The reality of temptation

 The reality of temptation.

On the last blog episode I shared a little bit of who is Jesus to me and how did He reach me. But on today´s episode I want to talk about what God has been teaching me.

Every night when I go to sleep I pray. And sometimes I pray that God would give me dreams and visions, if it is His will. And one night He gave me this dream: I was in a crowded place and I saw some people that I knew and waved to them. All of a sudden I am moving with the crowd somewhere and there is like A LOT of people but I felt safe. At some moment somebody starts getting touchy behind me and I don´t see them. My flesh is okay with it and I don´t do anything. But randomly I am turned around and I see who was really behind me. I see this ugly old man (All people are beautiful but this was a dream). He has no teeth and I am disgusted. I also see that I am alone with that man, nobody around.

I wake up right after that dream and think nothing much of it. Later I happened to be walking to church on Sunday and it hit me. That dream had a big meaning: We go with our fleshly ways and sin because we DON´T SEE THE REALITY OF IT. Our back is always turned against it like we trust it the most. We think that we are safe. It feels good and we don´t act on it.  But when we turn around and face sin and the enemy, we see how disgusting it is. We also see that we are not safe, we see that there is no protection around us.

THAT is the reality of temptation. It is sneaky but we need to be alert and see what we are dealing with. Who do we trust?- Do we trust Jesus Christ of Nazareth who LOVES and is God or do we trust the enemy who is actually the ugliest and tempts us? We need to realise what sin really is and focus more on how wonderful and loving our God is. A God who cares, a God who died on the cross for OUR sins so we could be set free and enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

God is truly the only one who can make us feel safe at all times. He want´s to help you and He isn`t mad when you fall. He want´s to help you back up and He want´s you to continue your journey with Him. Let God lead you, not temptation.

Temptation is hard but even harder is to hear Jesus say: ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ on judgement day. (Matthew 7:23). If you need any info or help always ask God. He is there and hears you even when you don´t know it. God bless. Amen.
